The Wicker Man

The Wicker Man

I decided that I will be doing a movie review each week. This week we will take a look at The Wicker Man.

Most people love Nicholas Cage as an actor, personally he is one of my favorites. This movie was one of his worst. It built you up, only to bring you down. Sure there were some freaky scenes, but hey it was suppose to be a thriller/suspenseful movie. The ending was tasteless, and the plot was great, up until the last 45 Minutes. I will not give away the ending. Cage plays a cop that spends the entire movie trying to find a young girl name Rowen, who has gone missing from this isolated island in Washington. There are no rules and no way out. He must find the girl before the wicker man comes. The movie takes you on a roller coaster ride...until the end. If you want to waste $4, rent it, however if you can find someone who already owns it, or wait until it plays on USA or TNT, I would take that option.

By the way here is my feature story:

I haven't seen 'The Wicker Man'. But in response to Nicholas Cage's acting, I must say I have enjoyed most of his movies.

Dr. J, your right about his being a 'wooden' actor. He's not a very good actor in the traditional sense, however it has been my experience that the roles he is usually cast in, he does a good job at. Perhaps they are tailored to his style, which I admit is not the best.
