Spider Man 3

Spider Man 3

I regret to inform you that this movie is in fact over-rated. I was disappointed as I walked out of the the theater wearing my Spiderman costume and sobbing as I spun a web of distraught. Ok, so I made the last part up, I do not own a Spidey costume, however neither does Tobey Maguire, all those years and still nothing to show other than a very large bank account.

Back to the movie, Maguire returns as our favorite friendly neighborhood Spiderman. He is casted along side the alumni cast of Kirsten Dunst and James Franco. Newcomers include Thomas Haden Church (Sandman) and Topher Grace (Venom). This movie may have some talented actors, but the plot was far from award winning.

Peter Parker returns along side his love Mary Jane Watson. She is now a hit on Broadway and after a days worth of crime fighting Peter makes sure to be front row for her first performance. However, her broadway gig does not last long, neither does their happy romance.

Right from the start everyone can see the greed and the ego trip that Spiderman is going through. This does not make Mary Jane happy. But of course Peter does not notice and continues his battle with his friend Harry and 2 newcomers, also within himself. Try balancing that and a relationship. He is also on the quest to ask Mary Jane to marry him. No, I will not say a word.

The only interesting part was the discovery of the black suit. Which was so corny that I peed my pants. A meteorite or something from space lands with a black substance that consumes whoever comes in contact with it. Spiderman gets a new look and we get the introduction of Venom. Also take note that when Tobey is in the black suit, his hair changes and is pushed to the front of his face, how silly! That was particularly comical to me.

If you want to spend 8 bucks to see an overrated movie, then go for it. However, if you are patient, which I am not, wait until you can rent it, or borrow it from a chump that bought the movie. (I will not let anyone borrow without a deposit).

Night At The Museum

Night at the Museum

This movie was in fact hilarious. It was more of a family fun movie rather than a comedy, but none the less, enjoyable. Ben Stiller is usually a pompous moron in each of his movies, and he continued that tradition through this movie as well. Only unlike many of his others, I could bear to watch this one.

Stiller plays a man that does not quite have what it takes to keep a steady job. He also does not know how to be a dad that his son can look up to with pride. This is until he starts working as the night guard to the museum. Everything comes alive. From the minature statues to the real life Teddy Roosevelt (played by Robin Williams). There are many tricks to keeping the museum in order and also to get it cleaned up and back to normal by sun up. There is a great twist to the story and the plot carries through until the very end. Not one dull moment. I recommend seeing this with friends and family.

The all star cast includes Owen Wilson, Dick Van Dyke, Mick Rooney, and Bill Cobbs, to name a few.

Rent it, enjoy it.
